This week’s track comes from the Dead Hamster Society.

They are a Bradford based, multi-generational band, with BCB’s 16 year old DJ Moshua on guitar and 24 year old Ben (aka Mr Sticks) on drums.

Formerly known as the Dead Rejects, this punk, alternative, band is based at SORM Studios, in Little Germany where they rehearse and record.

We’re playing Jet Packs from the recently released EP Arnt You Dead Yet as our BCB Track of the week this week. Buckle up!

For their end of year project they created a number of original songs with a 60’s feel.

This week’s track comes from 17 year old Abi Swift.

She’s a producer and multi-instrumentalist, studying music performance and production at Bradford College. Her music is inspired by genres like hip-hop, nu-funk, modern jazz and soul. As well as producing she also plays drums for Bradford Band – The Flow

This track is called No More (I don’t want you) and features David Hogan, Lucy Pearson & Meg Dobbin who are also students at Bradford College.

This week’s track comes from a band called Moonshine.
One of the members of the band, Ollie Forrest, has already provided our track of the week as a solo artist. Now he’s teamed up with Harry Knowles from Honey Arcade, and a couple of others to create the band Moonshine.

This track is their first release and it’s called ‘The Fever

This week’s track comes from an alternative rock band from Bradford called Echoviolet. The band is made up of guitarist Rowan Minnis age 28, James Whiteley age 28 (Vocals and Guitar), Charlotte Addinell – age 22 (Drums) and George Gales age 18 who plays Bass.

The track is the band’s 4th single; it’s called Come Back Home, and it’s about anyone who has had family or friends who have served in the military.

This week’s track comes from the collaborative project known as Polite Control, headed up by 21 year old Joe Smith from Cottingley.

The track, Radioisotope, draws on influences such as Kraftwerk, Joy Division, and Orchestral Manoeuvrers in the Dark. It’s released on the 19th February. You can pre-order Radioisotope on Spotify.

This week we’re revisiting a track from Kemmi Gill called KCU. The track was made for the ‘Kindness, Compassion and Understanding’ campaign, commissioned by the Bradford Health and Care Partnership to mark World Kindness Day back in November last year.

As this week is Children’s Mental Health week, the team behind the track have released a remix by local producer Shaun Dean. It’s a BCB Exclusive, and you can only hear it on About Bradford and Bradford & Beyond this week.

Track of the Week: This week’s track comes from 18 year old Ismail Hussain. Ismail recently won the Arts and Culture award at the Yorkshire Asians Young Achiever awards. He performs around the UK and abroad, and has a large following on social media.

The track is called Hu Allah and is take from his Project 5 album.

Track of the Week comes from six young musicians from Bingley/Skipton going by the name of The Reyers. They are all 18 or under and the lead singer, Mabel is just 15.

This week’s track, “Moor Life“, comes from Saint Jerome, a rapper from Bradford who has created songs in English, German, and Mandarin.

Saint Jerome describes the song as “about the lesser told black history.” He goes on to say:

We are mainly just taught that western black history starts with slavery. This is not true, with black history going much further back and being much richer than that. The song sheds light on one aspect of that which is the Moors of Europe and America.

Prehensile Thrashings were kind of a band for a bit even though we never played the same song twice.
